These verbs become very short in the simple future, in the aorist they are prefixed with ει-

Main -αίνω verbs#
These lose the -αίν- root in the simple future and it is replaced with -ηκ in the aorist.

For these, the construction of the aorist follows the pattern of reguar verbs: take the simple future, change the ending, and add ε- if needed.
